New Clinical Nurse Specialist role for Annie

Annie AllsoppAnnie has been with Invacare for over 7 years and until recently, she had a dual role as a Business Development Manager and Clinical Support Specialist. Annie was responsible for account management and sales growth for Pressure Area Care products in the Midlands and also provided clinical support to customers and colleagues throughout the UK. In June, Annie was given the job role of Clinical Nurse Specialist, using her skills and knowledge to focus solely on clinical support for the whole of the UK.

Annie has a clinical background with a long standing career as a Registered General Nurse specialising in Oncology, Orthopaedics, Cardiac, General Surgery and ENT and as a qualified Midwife and Nursery Nurse. Remaining in the Industry, she then went on to a sales role with Respond Plus and Sims Portex before working for Pegasus/Arjo as a Nurse Advisor/Territory Manager for Pressure Area Care equipment for 5 years prior to joining Invacare.

Annie maintains her RGN registration through Continuing Professional Development and clinical practice, and her new job role enables Invacare to provide added value and enhance the customer experience. Annie states "Diversity in the job is great. The ability to help and support, to be creative, to discuss ideas and innovations, to improve clinical knowledge and product application makes this job very enjoyable. I am looking forward to taking on this new role".

Not only has Annie got a new role at Invacare, she was also recently commenced a 2 day month/12 month contract as Honorary Tissue Viability Nurse working with Professor Jackie Stephen-Haynes for Worcester Health & Care NHS Trust. The role focuses on equipment selection/application and assists with educational development of the Trust staff and extent personal arena for research and wound care skills. The honorary role also includes presenting and offering guidance for equipment selection at Community Roadshow events throughout Worcester.
