As a market leading provider of pressure redistributing products, Invacare has been providing the public and private healthcare sectors with professional audit services for over 10 years.

Current legislation

All healthcare providers must comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 and regular equipment audits are vital in order to meet these regulations. This results in improved cleanliness, safeguarding of patients and reducing hospital acquired infections.

A fully tailoredAudit fist test with border audit service

We understand the time and resource required to carry out an equipment audit, therefore our specialist service is tailored to alleviate these pressures. Our team work closely with you to ensure all your Pressure Area Care equipment is inspected to a high standard with minimal disruption to your patients and residents.

Professional training and guidance Audit training with border

We also offer professional guidance to staff members on the correct inspection, cleaning, decontamination and disposal procedures for your equipment in accordance with the Medical and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) directive.

Placement at time of audit

In addition, there is an optional placement service available in which our team can audit and replace damaged equipment at the same time, saving you time and administration as well as staffing costs.

Detailed audit reporting

After every audit, a comprehensive report is provided, detailing equipment failures and identifying actions that can be implemented to reduce future equipment failure rates.

Don't just take our word for it...here's what some of our customers think:

Feedback from 2016 [HERE]

"The audit service of the mattresses trust wide is an invaluable service. It is independent of any bias and allows the trust to have a true understanding of the mattress cleaning process. It allows us to ensure all patients are being cared for on a clean mattress. It obviously saves us time and staffing to carry out the audit ourselves again invaluable service. We have been able to put an action plan together on the back of the results found by the audit team which improves the quality of patient care."

Joan Goodbody - Infection Prevention & Control Nurse at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

"I thought the team was excellent. They fitted us in at short notice, were punctual and fully prepared with replacement mattresses on the audit days, they were slick and professional at all times in carrying out the audit and swapping out faulty mattresses and disposing of them. The audit report is very detailed and informative and we would certainly be happy to use your audit team again in the future."

Jason Styles - Deputy Clinical Engineering Manager at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

"The Invacare equipment audit is an invaluable service. It provides a fully managed service from contacting the individual units, arranging the audit dates, liaising with staff, completing the audit with minimal disturbance to the day to day running of wards and more importantly to patients. The follow up service is fantastic with replacement of any mattresses or components that have been condemned, again with full communication with the wards involved. For BCHC this is a value added service that gives us the assurance that patients are being nursed on a quality mattress that is fit for purpose. Invacare go out of their way to be accommodating to patients and staff alike. It is an irreplaceable service."

Rebecca Martin - Service Lead, Tissue Viability at Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust
